Our team of four young ladies have come together to help one another continue our passion for barrel racing to the next level. The four of us are going up against riders who have competed at nearly the highest levels their entire lives and have the monetary support of their parents. We are going to show that we can accomplish our goals in this industry independently, and compete alongside them without the backing they have. We have set high goals for this year and steps set for ourselves to reach the top professional spots in the next few years. Our larger hopes are to earn our team a respectable name and to be able to supply the same base for more “up and coming young girls” to join with the same dreams we have today, and help them achieve their barrel racing goals as well!
The Northwest Barrel Racing Team is composed of 4 young riders with many individual accomplishments. Read their biographies.

I am the daughter of Ron and Ronalie Siler, born and raised in Sisters, OR
where my dad was a horse trainer and bareback rider for many years. I
naturally grew up wanting to train horses, as my Dad rubbed off on me. I
began barrel racing and competing in the peewee and jr. rodeo ranks, going
on
to high school rodeo and then right into the professional ranks, buying my
permit right out of high school and entering the professional circuit
rodeos. I grew up in a rodeo arena, as my Grandfather, Mert Hunking and
Grandmother, Martha Hunking were stock contractors, Sombrero Rodeo Stock.
I was
either running out stock, carrying the american flag, or timing in the
announcers stand and of coarse competing in the barrel racing.
In 1990 I won the Pacific Coast Rodeo Association in Barrel Racing. Then
I had my kids, took a few years off and went back to competing at the Pro
Rodeos, winning Sisters, OR Pro Rodeo, Rapid City, South Dakota, Elgin, WA
Pro Rodeo, Kennewick, WA Pro Rodeo, just to name a few. I qualified for
the
Columbia River Circuit Finals in 2006 and 2008.
I have won and placed at many Futurities on Horses, such as, Bridle Bit
Bob, Chiquita's Cash, Bridle Bit Sparky, Hackers Hickory, Bridle Bit Star,
Bridle Bit Rocky, Had A Winning Style, Had A Larrabee, Rowdy Chex (AKA,
Dinero)
As a professional horse trainer and competitor I am constantly looking for
what is best for my horse and I have finally found a feed that fits that
description, "Equiscience", is that feed. I have found that my horses feel
better, look better and are of coarse working better. They are getting a
balanced diet that isn't high in starch, helping them to stay level headed,
which is very important to me. Horses have to keep their minds about them
to be competitive!!!
